If you are one of the many that are having difficulty keeping your head straight and an eye on the ball try the following. The next time you approach the ball, assume the correct stance with your feet and knees in position but keep your head and back straight, bend forward slightly at the waist and look straight at the ball. If you try and take a swing in this position, your left shoulder will most likely hit your chin. While keeping your eyes on the ball, raise your head slowly until your left shoulder does not hit your chin. Make sure that your head does not move from side to side by keeping your eyes fixed on the ball. Slowly go through the back swing and downswing portions of your golf swing. Do not hit the ball and do the follow through. Practice this portion of your golf swing focusing on keeping your head straight and eyes on the ball.

Practice this exercise in your backyard for about 25 times in a row and then take a break and relax a bit, then start again. Make minor corrections to your head and body position as needed to keep your eyes straight on the ball and your left shoulder from hitting your chin. This exercise will “train” your body, and your muscles will “remember” the correct position you need to be in to perform the movement correctly. Think about any sports athlete, they train and train to place their bodies in the correct stance and position to properly execute the movements necessary to be successful in their particular sport. You are doing the same thing by “training” your body to keep your head straight and position itself so that you can successfully execute a proper golf swing.

Another basic step that can work greatly towards improving your golf swing is to relax. I know it is easier said then done, especially when you are getting ready to put all your power into drive with an audience of either your co-workers, or better still your friends who will not let you forget it if you mess up. However, relaxing your muscles will help you to maintain the proper balance that is important to a great golf swing. Regardless of the golf clubs you use, your balance is the primary foundation of your golf swing, and the way to achieve good balance is to practice. A good way to practice improving your balance is to assume the address position with your club, relax your body and try holding it there for about 30 seconds. Does it feel like you have more weight on one foot or the other? Is one part of your body more tense then another?

Keeping your head straight and maintaining good balance are just two basic parts of a great golf swing. The exercises given above are just two ways that you can start training now to improve your golf swing. You can work on either one separately, or combine them together into one exercise. Taylor Made Drivers That Is The Brand For Me.

I was having the itch for a knew driver,I have always liked Taylor Made Drivers but before taking the plunge I decided to take a look outside the box and see what the other brands were offering and after looking many drivers this were the contenders in any particular order:

Callaway FT iQ - The longest driver from Callaway ever , Hyperbolic Face Technology what ever that means , try it and I did not like it at all.

Callaway FT-9 Same Hyperbolic Face technology , I liked the body shape more than the FT iQ , I like it felt very solid and foregiving.

Ping Rapture V2 - This is a multimetal design it is a high launching .lower spinning driver felt very od to me .

TaylorMade r7 - It has the Movable weight technology , it is a nice driver but it was just not for me.

TaylorMade New Burner- I thought I was never going to like a driver like this what a surprise I thought this was going to be my next driver

Titleist D2 - It has a pear profile 460 c.c. , I like it very much , now the race was betwen the Burner and the D2.

Then after thinking everything was said and done on the next week I tried my brother's new R9 I thought it was going to be something like the r7 I tried before , wrong , this driver was just perfect , it was like custom made for me .

It has the movable weight technology and also it is possible to open or close the head I did not have to do any changes at all because my Bro already adjusted and it was just perfect for me in the other hand he wanted to fine tune it but I did not let him touch it any more it was already the best drive I ever put my hand on it.
I was thinking in stealing his club and just bought him a new one

Once home I wanted to learn more about this driver and compare with the others Taylor Made Drivers so I visited Taylor Made web site , I think this has to be the worst website I ever visited , do not get me wrong it has beautiful graffics , sound , is like they were trying to do some kind of interactive TV but I can care less I just wanted to see all the Taylor Made Drivers and compare them and learn more about the R9 instead , "skip intro" , "loading" , check specs at the "Lobby" , back to the "clubhouse" , "loading" , I am gone .

During the week I was able to try the new 2009 Taylor made Burner it is another great club very long and powerful it was a lot of fun to hit the ball with it , It felt like it had less control than the Taylor Made R9 driver but it was such a pleasure to hit the ball with the Burner that now I know less which one is the best for me . Both are very nice and I think they are different tools for different jobs I need to buy them both .

What Is A Golf Wedge And When Should It Be Used?

The golf clubs within a standard set are arranged in order of their degree of loft; that is the angle at which the ball will be lifted into the air when it is hit with the club. You will find therefore that a new set of golf clubs starts off with a 1 wood, otherwise known as a driver which typically has an angle of loft between8 and 13 degrees. This is followed by the 3 and 5 woods. The irons included within this set typically starts with the 3 (although 1 and 2 irons are available), which has a degree of loft between 21 and 24 degrees. Your set will top out with the 9 iron (45 - 48 degrees of loft), Pitching Wedge, which could also rightly be called a 10 iron (47 - 53 degrees of loft) and of course a putter.

However, it doesn't stop there. While playing a round of golf the player will inevitably find himself in situations where he has to achieve a very high loft angle, usually to clear an obstacle such as a tree or a set of bunkers. The progression of loft angles therefore continues with some special clubs which are available to be added to the standard set. The greatest loft angle is given to the lob wedge which is designed to perform exactly how the name implies, that is to lob the ball over an obstacle or at least high into the air. The lob wedge has a loft angle of around 58 to 62 degrees. Below this is the sand wedge with a loft angle of 54 to 58 degrees and the gap wedge with a 50 to 54 degree loft angle. As the name implies the sand wedge is particularly useful for sand bunker shots, whereas the gap wedge simply describes a club which plugs the gap in loft angles between the pitching wedge and the sand wedge.

As for when these clubs should be used, well I have alluded to some situations already, in that the sand wedge is likely to be used for escaping from bunkers and the lob wedge is likely to be used to lob the ball over an obstacle. In reality though there is another factor that needs to be taken into consideration and that is the required distance for the shot. For example a typical male recreational golfer will probably hit a sand wedge around 65 yards. One of the characteristics to bear in mind though when choosing to play a shot with a wedge is that because of the very high angle of approach to the green the ball is likely to roll very little, if at all. Accomplished players can use this to their advantage in that they can put backspin on the ball and so instead of stopping dead when it hits the green the ball will actually grip and roll backwards slightly making for some very impressive shots.

Most players when starting out and even when they become more experienced will not have a need to include too many of these specialist tools in their golf arsenal but as the standard rules of golf allow for 14 clubs to be carried out onto the course, it is probably worth investing in at least one wedge. The most likely candidate and probably most versatile of the wedges is the sand wedge and so is the extra club of choice for most players.

The commonly accepted theory is that golf originated in Scotland with shepherds knocking stones into rabbit holes, in the place where the famous Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews now sits. The earliest known course featured 11 holes. The golfer would play the holes out, turn around and play the holes in, for a total of 22 holes. In 1764, several of the holes were deemed too short, and were therefore combined. The number was reduced from 11 to 9, so that a complete round of golf would have 18 holes. All other courses chose to follow suit, which left the 18-hole course as the standard today.

Different levels of grass are varied to increase difficulty or to allow for putting in the case of the green. If the holes bend either to the left or to the right, this is called a “dogleg”. Rarely a hole’s direction can bend twice, and is called a “double dogleg”. Early Scottish golf courses were mostly laid out on links land, soil covered sand dunes directly inland from beaches. This gave rise to the term golf links, particularly applied to seaside courses and those built on naturally sandy soil inland.

The rules of golf are internationally standardized and are jointly governed by the
Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, which was founded in 1754 and the United States Golf Association. There are strict regulations regarding the amateur status of golfers. Anyone who has ever received payment or compensation for giving instruction or played golf for money is not considered an amateur and may not participate in competitions limited only to amateurs.

Penalties are incurred in certain situations. They are counted towards a player’s score as if they were an extra swing or swings at the ball. One example is if a golfer makes a stroke at the wrong ball or hits a fellow golfer’s ball with a putt, the player incurs a two-stroke penalty. Most rule infractions lead to stroke penalties, but also can lead to disqualification. Disqualification could be from cheating, signing for a lower score, or from rule infractions that lead to improper play. An example of this is a violation of the rule that only 14 clubs are allowed in a player’s bag at one time during a stipulated round. This could lead to disqualification. Golf clubs consist of woods, which are used for long-distance fairway shots; irons, the most versatile class, are used for a variety of shots, and putters that are used to roll the ball into the cup.

Tiger Woods launches at more than 11 degrees with a backspin rate of around 2,200 rpm.

The more costly the machine the more number of parameters it will measure and analyse. It also depends on the software that is doing the analysis of the data gathered by the machine. If you can hook it up to your PC or your laptop, all the better.

Achieving the right launch and angle requires technique. Supplement the results of the analysis by the golf swing monitor with good advice from a seasoned coach, practice in front of a mirror or take a video recording of your swing and watch it to be on your way to get the proper golf swing.
