Golf Bunker Shots Tips – Practical Advice about Bunker Shots in Golf

A shot from a sand bunker is a very tough task. It seems obvious that you just need to hit slightly behind the ball and take some sand. But this is the visible simplicity, because a successful sand save if about lot more actions.

We decided to publish a short guide to making the bunker shots the proper way.

First of all, you need to open your stance and dig feet into the sand a little. The ball is placed forward in your golf stance – this is done to cause a higher trajectory after the ball is struck.

Then you open the clubface to flatten it out a little to make sure that the clubface slices through the sand. The grip is looser than the normal golf swing, but at the same moment firm enough that the club does not turn upon impact with the sand. This weaker grip is important because you should not turn the clubface inward on your swing and close it when you make contact.

During the golf swing keep the body still and use just your arms, especially wrists. Remember that a powerful shot is not needed here. And a full wrist cock at the top of the back swing will help you bring the club through on the downswing.

Right-handed golfers: your left hand should be used to steady the club and the right hand to apply force to the swing. This type of motion occurs naturally if you are using the full wrist cock discussed earlier. After the contact with the sand, the right hand continues to push through with a nice, high follow-through.

If everything is done like explained, by this time the ball is already coming out with a fair amount of sand!

Do not make one of the typical mistakes – chopping down on the ball. When you are chopping onto the ball, the angle of the club strikes the sand as such to where enough sand is not lifted from the bunker to help propel the ball forward.

As you can see, there is a safe strategy to help you with golf bunker shots. But, of course, this strategy needs practise – only then you will be able to show good results of saving yourself from sand bunker.

Golf Cart Owners Manual to Basics of Carts

After some measurements done you will see that most golf courses are about four miles in length. And an even bigger distance is walked by the golfer who is not always successful and scores without mistakes.

Until 1960’s, most golf courses were played exclusively on foot. More fortunate golfers had caddies to carry the players’ clubs.

But in 1962 Merlin L. Halvorson invented the first self-propelled golf car. And this was the beginning of a new age. In the 60’s the technology gave a start to what we know today as a modern golf cart.  These cars were built with gasoline motors and could transport two golfers with their golf clubs. The biggest manufacturers at that time were E-Z-GO, Pargo, Harley Davidson and Cushman.

The body frames, undercarriage and suspensions are very close to the modern automobiles. The treads changed and designed in a way that the cart may be driving on grass and not damage the turf on a golf course. Controls are – a modern steering wheel, accelerator and brake. Plus many accessories like straps to secure the golf bags, a basket (for towels, balls, coolers, etc), cup holders, ball compartments and holes that golfers can slide a few extra golf tees into.

Today golf carts are manufactured with electric, battery powered motors – because this is more trendy for the rich people to look "green educated" and do like they say. Batteries are rechargeable and one charge is enough to last through several days and rounds of golf. As the business was changing, today they largest manufacturers of golf cars include: Ingersoll Rand (Club Car), E-Z-Go and Yamaha.

More than Best Golf Club Review Can Say

A good set of golf clubs is the true weapon for every golfer – experienced or beginner.

A complete set of clubs consists of woods, irons and a putter. Golfer’s bag may hold 14 clubs. Let’s talk in more details about the crucial items.

A driver is a long-shafted club with a full head. It is used to strike the ball that is set upon a tee. This club head does not have much lift to it, this is done to achieve maximum distance off the tee. The fairway woods have club heads that are slightly more lofted than the driver. Theseare used for the purpose of long shots when the ball is lying on the ground. The price range here is between $200 and $400. And for fairway woods – from $150 to $300.

Golf irons make up the essence of a set of golf clubs. Two thirds of the shots in a normal round of golf go with the iron. Irons are used for hitting the golf ball off the ground to send it futher on for the distances of 125 yards to 225 yards. Each iron has its own number based upon the loft angle of the club head. For example, the 9-iron has the most loft; it is used to hit short, high shots. And a 2-iron has very little loft, this "feature" is used to hit low, long shorts.

Wedges are typically added to the package of a set of irons. Among the most common wedges we can mention: the pitching wedge, the sand wedge and the lob wedge. This type of golf clubs is used for short, controlled shots. It is also worth of attention that two primary types of irons are available. Forged irons are precision clubs and they professional golfers a greater ability to shape a shot. Cavity-back irons are more forgiving; they have a larger sweet spot and are used by golfers who want to focus on hitting straight shots. A set of 10 irons can is from $250 to $1,500.

The final and very important golf club is the putter (also known as “money club”). The purpose of the putter is to roll the ball, so there is no loft on the club head. Putters can cost from $20 to $300.

Simple Tips to Cool Golf Clothing – part of Online Golf Instructor Training Tips

Surely comfort and functionality for golf clothing is a major concern. But don’t forget that golf etiquette asks that golfers dress a certain way.

The basic rule is - nice appearance on public golf courses (because at private golf courses, following a dress code be required).

These tips will help you to be adequate in the choice of golf clothes for men and women.

Footwear.

?asual shoes are acceptable, but they are not very functional for the game of golf.  Choose a pair of golf shoes that are manufactured with soft spikes on the soles to improve footing on the ground. Golfers have an option to choose between classic wingtip of saddle shoes, casual or tennis-style golf shoes, or even golf sandals. By the way, better wear cotton socks (plus an extra pair inside golf bag can be of help).

Pants.

A pair of slacks, khakis or cotton blend pants are generally accepted. This generally accepted rule can be against the trend in some private courses. Wearing jeans on a golf course is not ok. Even if you are looking for some way to attract attention to your personality, keep in mind that golfers try not to make a spectacle of themselves with unusual clothing or with bold color designs.

Shirts.

Cotton or wool-blend golf shirt is the choice of the vast majority. Short can be long- or short-sleeved, depending on the weather. It is considered to be a “poor form” thing to wear t-shirts or tank tops, or to not tuck in your shirt, on a golf course.

Headwear.

Everything is accepted in case it is not a distraction. Don’t forget that the first thing for a golf headwear is to protect the golfer’s head from being directly under the sun for four to five hours. And only then comes the question of style.

Accessories.

A rain suit in golf bag for rainy days. A golf glove on the swing hand to prevent blisters and improve grip throughout the round.

Your Confidential Guide to Golf Course and Needs of Change

No golf course is ever the same.Surely this is the same course and nothing has been changed. But still it is an absolute truth that no golf course is ever exactly the same even the same day.

First of all, the grass follows the sun, and a putt that broke one way in the morning will break in the opposite direction in the afternoon.

Weather also plays an important role in golf. With wet course the game is slower, and the ball is not travelling as far after hitting the ground. On a dry course the ball rolls farther.

Not only dry and wet weather makes the difference, but also hot and cold weather. Cold weather keeps the ball from traveling as far, while a well hit ball will go further on a warm or hot day.

One more factor to consider is the golfer’s attitude. Golf requires calm and focused mind, bad weather – less focus on the game.

The rough is one more issue. The rough is always going to be thick and hard to play out of, but a heavy, wet rough makes it almost impossible for a golfer to do much more than simply attempt to chip back onto the fairway. Sprinkler heads will have an adverse affect on a ball that happens to hit them.

As you can see, these simple facts prove that no golf course is the same even twice a day.
